Summer Reading List: Books for Personal Growth

I love reading a good self-help book. I actually enjoy them more than fiction! Unless of course, rereading the Harry Potter series is being considered.

*****If you live in Tennessee, you can check out ebooks & audiobooks for free virtually through the Libby App provided by TN R.E.A.D.S. All you need to do is download the app & sign in using your library card (if you don't have one, just go to your local library to sign up!) Then you can listen to the audiobooks on your phone or read the ebooks on the app or transfer them to your Kindle. This may be available in other states in the US to, I would check with your local library!*****

Below I’ve complied a list of books on my nightstand and in my queue:

  1. Tailor Made: Discover the Secret to Who God Created You to Be by Alex Seeley

This book is free through Kindle Unlimited. It is not available for rent in the Libby App yet.

  2. Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life by Byron katie

AVAILABLE in ebook format on the libby app. Buy on Kindle and earn $10 in credit.

  3. Waking up by Sam Harris

AVAILABLE in ebook format on the libby app.

  4. Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts. By Brene Brown

we are reading this at work as a team! If you don’t have a team to read it with I suggest checking out Braving the Wilderness or Rising Strong, both AVAILABLE on the Libby App!

  5. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck By Mark Manson

This book.. just tells it like it is. It’s something we all need to hear sometimes! It’s AVAILABLE on the Libby App in eBook & Audiobook, you may just have to wait a while!

  6. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

One of my favorites so far! It’s a tough read though, meaning it hits hard! It’s been one of the most profound books I’ve ever read. Get it on the Libby app or amazon for 75% back in kindle credit!

To be honest, I have a waiting list of probably three years for books to read. I currently have 15 on hold on the Libby app and three of the books above checked out. I’m also kinda reading 3 books at the same time because I get easily bored in the middle. This is just what I plan to get done this Summer, fingers crossed. To make matters worst, I always pick up books a Goodwill or the thrift store when I’m out! One of my personal values is to always be learning something, so I guess that is why I tend to find myself drawn to personal help books!

Have you read any of these before? What books had an impact in your life? I’d love to know!

Much love xx
